Baseball season is distracting

It has been a week since the last post.  Let’s not let that happen again.

Things have been busy, but not that busy.  I really need to get back on the ball and stop spending so much time stat-following.

Currently, life is good.  The Cubs are winning 11-1, I have actually been really happy at work the last two days, church was AWESOME on Sunday (Mike decided that he was ready to become a Christian, which made me very happy), and the weather in Vegas has been absolutely gorgeous.

You know what I need?  A good laugh-until-I-cry moment.  I miss doing that.  Since I don’t have many friends here and Mike is currently extremely busy with the academy, I just haven’t had many of those moments lately.

Except for while watching The Office, of course.

Mike and I did actually get to spend some time out this past weekend and made several exciting discoveries.

Robert took us to see Lake Las Vegas.  Holy crap, this place is gorgeous!  If things go the way I hope they will, I want Mike and I to get married there.  They have some really nice hotels with beautiful views of the mountains and the lake, and they have some old, rustic chapels.

They also only have one casino, which makes me think it won’t feel like a “Vegas” wedding.  I don’t want a Vegas wedding.

After the jaunce up to Lake Las Vegas, we decided to get a drink at the M (remember, it’s the new casino in Henderson).  I tried this CRAZY good beer called Pyramid Apricot.  Mmmmmmm. Delicious.  And only $2.50 :)

Missy’s wedding is coming up, and in search of the perfect bridal shower gift I found this really cool website.  Check it out and buy some wine!  www.onehopewine.com.

I also learned another life lesson this weekend (like when I learned not to use soy milk in mashed potatoes).  I learned that when checking to make sure students have cleaned out their apartments when they move out, ALWAYS check the fridge, especially if the power is cut off the day the students move out.

I had to clean out a very, very disgusting fridge on Monday.  Who knew at melted ice cream could grow mold so quickly?
